Allan Holdsworth, ein Vorbild des modernen E-Gitarren-Spiels

Allan Holdsworth ist ein englischer Jazzgitarrist und wenn der Name Jazz und Gitarre fällt, dann weiß man in der Regel, dass hier jemand technisch versiert und oft auf einem hohen, abgedrehtem Niveau sein Instrument spielt.

Diese Musik ist nicht immer jedermanns Sache und man muss sich schon den Zugang dazu erarbeiten, denn die hier verwendeten Harmonien können das ungeübte Ohr schon anstrengen. Nichtsdestotrotz ist das dargebotene Spiel technisch Top. Nicht von ungefähr ist es dann auch so, dass Allan Holdsworth das Vorbild von solch Gitarristen wie Steve Vai und Frank Gambale ist. Auch die Wikipedia weiß hier zu erzählen, dass zu seinen Bewunderern Musiker zählen wie Frank Zappa, Pat Metheny, Eddie Van Halen, Carlos Santana, Joe Pass, Joe Satriani und viele andere.

Edited by Renato Sommexe, in this video recorded at frankfurt 1986 we have the chance to see Alan, Gary Husband on drums, Jimmy Johnson on Bass and the amazing extraordinary Key akagi on keys at the time using the best keyboards available, yamaha CP80 for pianos and Yamaha DX7 for synth sounds, sometimes stealing the scene showing a tremendous intimacy with alan’s complicated compositions, some of them not featuring keyboads in the original recording, in others replacing the also magnificent Alan Pasqua a long term partner in alan’s career. Key akagi also can be seen here at youtube on Miles Davis tour in a Kitaro Look due to the long hair. Also alike is his presence in one of Dimeola’s 80′s shows and you can hear his improvisations along with tavaglione’s wind controller synth solos in gambale’s alive album which I long to see one day in video also, if someone has it please get in touch, let’s share.

Hallo zusammen!
Ich freue mich persönlich sehr darüber hier einen Beitrag über Allan Holdsworth zu sehen.
Die meisten Musikstudenten zucken zusammen wenn Sie diesen Namen hören. So viel ich weiss ist Holdsworth Pflichtfach am GIT und Barkley-College.
Über Wikepedia gelangt man zur offiziellen Seite von Holdsworth und dort findet man unter Links eine sehr interessante Liste von tollen Musikern! Erwähnenswert sind dort auf jeden Fall Jeff Berlin (einer meiner Lieblingsbassisten) und natürlich Bill Bruford.
Mit Bruford hat Allan Holdsworth,längere Zeit, eine Band gehabt.
Den meisten ist Bruford als Schlagzeuger von “Yes” bekannt aber am interessantesten sind Seine Soloprojekte!
